MY FIRST POST!!!
Hello all uncles and aunties out there in the world - I have finally done up my own blog (thanks to pointers here and there from my cousin Rui Qi). The process was actually quite simple and best of all, it did not cost my papa and mama anything. Now, I can start blogging and soaking myself in the wonders of technology.
Even a 6-year-old knows.....
I do not understand why some parents do not allow their children from setting up blogs. If only they can cast away some deep seated prejudice and try to set up their own blog, they will realise that a lot can be learnt:

I do not understand why some parents do not allow their children from setting up blogs. If only they can cast away some deep seated prejudice and try to set up their own blog, they will realise that a lot can be learnt:
- Learn a programming language: When I chose the blog template I liked and loaded into my blog, I realised that the lines of computer code (HTML programming) were done up for me. By studying and varying the syntax of the codes, I could actually alter the contents, fonts and colours of my blog!
- Resourcefulness: I wanted to know how many people will visit my site and also a tagboard where I can communicate with my friends out there. My cousin Rui Qi directed me to a few sites where I could actually get it. The process of obtaining these add-ons were easy - it normally gives you a part of the HTML code where you can then copy and paste into your existing code!
- An outlet to express and communicate: The blog is a great way for us to express our internal feelings and thoughts (sometimes it is not easy to open up fully to our parents, you know) with our friends out there. Do not be overly alarmed with some of the coarse language that we may use - it really releases a lot of our pent-up angst that we feel occasionally; all part of the process of growing up ....learning to be like an adult......arrrgggghhh!!!!
- Understand boundaries: We do know the powers of the internet and that there may be unsavoury elements lurking out there. As such, we will not be so STOOOOPID as to put in anything too private that will hurt or demean our own self worth, both physically and mentally. We will use our blain (sorry, brains) fully and properly and learn to stay within the right boundaries as we go along!
So, dear parents out there, please try to understand that times are different now - do not impose your 'dinosaur-era' views on us blindly - else we could become rebels and still do things without your knowledge.....and then put up a pretty goody-two-shoes persona in front of you to make you and your relatives happily salivating away. Isn't this worse and sad for all??? See, even a 6-year-old knows....
