MY KUKUP TRIP...
Last Saturday morning, I went to Malaysia in aunty Neo's car which was full of stickers. We stopped at the Shell station near the 2nd link and waited for uncle Pau Siong. After the immigration, we stopped at a highway restaurant to wait for other friends of aunty Neo/uncle Alex. My papa bought coffee - the coffee did not taste like Singapore coffee - it was sweeter.

After breakfast, we continued our journey to a place for bak kut teh breakfast. I liked the food because it was hot and it soupy. I strolled around the vicinity of the restaurant with sister Tricia and a cat said 'Meowwww' to her.

We then went to Aunty Neo's house on wooden planks stuck onto a river bed. There was a motor boat and a fishing net and I pretended to fish with mama. It was a windy day. The inside of the house is nice. I saw the toilet and there was a hole dug out - my urine went directly into the sea, which was very strange and funny.

We then took the car to Kukup and parked the cars at a parking shelter for RM5. There was a van waiting for us to take us to near to our kelong. The van was old and non air-conditioned and the chairs were not comfortable at all. The driver also did not close the van door. I enjoyed the the 2-minute journey which was windy. We then walked along a narrow small walkway to our kelong. I felt 'floaty' because the sea water was just below us.

Our kelong did not look like a kelong as described to me by my papa - it looked more like a bungalow. It was a huge with 2 floors. We stayed on the lower floor. Our room had double decker beds with a window view of the sea. It was very cold with air conditioning.

We had a nice lunch at a wide common dining area. They served my favourite herbal chicken soup. Unfortunately, I vomited because I took too much gassy coca cola with my food. After lunch, I sat near the sea to watch the noisy boats go by. I saw some mudskippers on the soft mud when the tide was low. The mud seem to suck things in. I also watched my papa playing mahjong. I also played mahjong with Jia yu (uncle Pau Siong's son who is in primary 5). We built house and castles with the mahjong tiles. It was fun. For tea break, I had hot cheng tng.

Before dinner, papa, mama, popo, ergu, Tricia and I went for a walk. We saw a lot of motorcycles and bicycles driving past us - it was a long walk. I saw some air conditioned houses which I liked. There was a fishy smell which I did not like - I preferred our own 'kelong'.

Back in our kelong, I ate porridge in the bedroom with Tricia. After that, I rested and then joined in the BBQ. I ate satay, chicken wings and agar agar. After that, I sang karaoke (only one song). I like the songs that were played. I ate some BBQ sweet potato with ergu, mama and Tricia in the bedroom.

Near bedtime, I brushed my teeth - there happened to be some garbage nearby and it smelt VERY VERY horrible. I played with Tricia for a little while and then I went to sleep in the upper deck of the double decker bed. It felt very cool as it was nearer to the air conditioner.

Next morning, I woke up early and had breakfast - you tiao (my favourite), bee hoon, milo. I took some photos of mama, Tricia, the kitchen, the sea waves with my papa's camera. I saw a little blue bird near the sea and told my papa. My papa took a photo of the bird.

I then played in the bedroom. I climbed up and down the double decker bed, pretending that it was a double decker bus. I was the driver trying to pick up a passenger (Tricia). I also played obstacle game with my papa using the double decker beds in the room. Level 1 was easy (climbing up the ladder to the upper deck) while level 7 was difficult - jumping from the upper deck of the bed to the upper deck of the next bed. I stopped at level 8 as it was too difficult.

At 1030hours, we went on a boat trip. Mama did not go as she had to look after Tricia. The boat was noisy (brrrrrr brrrrr sound of the noisy engine). It was quieter when we were on the boat. We went to a nearby kelong. The uncle showed us some sea creatures. I dared to hold the king crab and my papa took a photo for me. After that we took a boat back to our kelong. We packed and left the kelong for lunch at a Chinese restaurant. We had crabs, clams, vegetables and fish with rice.

After lunch, we took a car to another restaurant and had Pontian wan ton mee (won ton mee with fish balls!). I just took the fish ball. We then went home to Singapore, stopping at the petrol station for refueling on the way. It was a long journey and I fell asleep in the car. Uncle Alex drove us back to our flat in Lengkok Bahru.

I enjoyed this trip very much and we lived happily ever after.....
