HONG KONG - Day 3 - 21 Nov - Tuesday
Oh no! it rained when we woke up - and we were scheduled to go to Disneyland this afternoon till Thursday. My papa checked the weather forecast; more bad news, there is forecast rain for both Wed and Thursday.
We stayed at home in the morning (luckily, there are toys and the playroom to occupy us fully). My papa went out to the nearest mall (10 minutes walk) and pack lunch back for us (Won ton noodles).
After lunch, it continued to pour and we took a taxi to the nearest
MTR (our
equivalent of MRT) and took the train to Disneyland. See the photos attached and look closely at the handles. At the Disneyland station, we took a free hotel shuttle bus to our hotel.
Unfortunately, it still continued to rain at Disneyland. We checked into our hotel room. We had a room overlooking the sea on the 9th floor (the highest) of Disney Hollywood Hotel. From the exterior, the hotel looks like a blue and ugly factory. My papa said that this was the cheaper hotel where room rate starts from HKD1,100 per room night.
The restaurants in the hotel are very expensive. Buffet dinner costs HKD330 for an adult!
We took the MTR to a nearby town (at Tsing Yi - translated to be green clothes, as my papa told me) and had a wonderful Cantonese dinner at
the huge shopping mall (Maritime Square). The entire bill for my whole family cost HKD300.
After dinner, we walked around the mall and bought some snacks, fruits and instant noodles (for our lunch at Disney the next day).
When we returned to the hotel, we saw Goofy a
nd Chip-&-Dale at the lobby and we took some lovely pictures with them. They are so soft and they cuddled me - I was quite embarrassed and shy. Goofy was really cute with his very smooth hand actions!
As it was STILL raining, we hope that the following day would be a sunny one. (Bad news - my papa watched the weather forecast on TV and it was forecast to be rain, rain and rain for both Wed and Thursday - boo! hoo!)
