KUKUP DETAILS (9 - 10 DEC 06)
Hello there, these are the details for our coming trip (remember your passports)
Pick up point
9 Dec 06 Saturday (vehicle number is PA2313. Driver is Ah Koon handphone 92725618)
Tampines MRT (at the DBS building pick up point, right beside the MRT) - 9am
Persons boarding: TJX, TXX, Kian Aik's (3 pax. He just SMS me to say daughter ill since yesterday, don't know if it means going or not. Okay, final update: they are going), Kian Tiong's (5 pax), Geok Tai's (4 pax), Geok Ee's (4 pax), Kian Seng's colleague May Fung (7 pax)
OR
Clementi MRT (I will call Ah Koon tonight and ask him to pick up at the overhead bridge linking to the MRT, at the old bus interchange side) - 9.30am
Persons boarding: Kian Seng's (4 pax), Pau Siong's (14 pax)
Please do not be late and let me know (through this blog, either via the comments or the tag board) which pick up point you will be taking and the final number of passengers in your family. I will update the vehicle number and the exact pick up spot next week (when I have them) in this post
Payment
The food and lodgings cost RM85 for adults (>12 years old) and RM50 for kids. The transport will be billed separately in SGD. I have chartered a bus that can sit 45 pax for SGD850. This is SGD500 cheaper as compared to the one chartered by the kelong operator. I will let you know the actual cost per family next week. I will just divide the cost by the pax, regardless of adult or kid, fat or thin etc.
Let me know whether you prefer to pay me in SGD or a combination of SGD and RM
You can pay me tomorrow in cash so that I can use the cash to pay the driver. [Pau Siong RM1085 & SGD277, Kian Aik SGD155, Kian Tiong SGD269, Geok Tai SGD212, May Fung SGD367, Geok Lian SGD20 for the fixed costs]

Some details
- blankets and pillows are provided in an airconditioned environment. you need not bring sleeping bags as there are additional matresses available
- lockers with keys are provided FOC
- there is hot shower available; you need to bring your own toiletries + bath towel
- there are mahjong and cards and karaoke discs with a VCD (or DVD?) player. you can bring additional movie discs if you like. You can also bring additional board games. For adults, you may want to bring a book along if you do not play mahjong nor cards.
- you can bring your fishing rods - you can fish directly from the comfort of the kelong. The last time we went, our friends really caught fishes fairly easily
- there is a nature reserve very near to the resort. this time round, we may go for a walk in the primary forest. it will be on sunday morning, after the tour of the breeding ponds. this is optional (admission to nature forest is at a nominal fee)
- there will be 5 meals - lunch, teabreak, BBQ dinner, breakfast and lunch (at a restaurant)
- no need to bring coffee sachets as these are available at the kelong
- we should be back in Singapore on Sunday by 4pm
- no need to buy crackers nor snacks, nor mineral water as there is a provision shop very close to the kelong
- the kelong is a modern one that is connected to land - it is not those built on wooden stilts far out in the sea.
- it is a big kelong that has about 10 rooms - each room can house 8 pax. As we have 45 pax, there will be other people staying there. Do not worry about the toilets - i think there are sufficient cubicles
- you do not need to bring a lot of RM as there would not be major shopping available
Last but not least
Remember your passports!!! If you have any further queries, please leave a comment on this blog post and I will update this posting in a different colour each time.
